The Vatican appreciates the importance of this month of Ramadan and the great effort by the Muslims throughout the world to fast, pray and share the Almighty’s gifts with the poor. The Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue addresses a vital aspect of relations between Christians and Muslims: the need to move from competition to collaboration. The Vatican sends Ramadan greetings to Muslims.

Pope meets Buddhists, Hindus, Jains, Sikhs

Buddhist, Hindu, Jain, Sikh and Christian representatives had participated in a conference on Tuesday organised by the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue. Pope Francis on Wednesday briefly met a delegation of Buddhists, Hindus, Jains and Sikhs who participated in a one-day conference in the Vatican, and another group of Buddhist monks from Thailand.

A Christian Chapel adjacent a masjid at University of Faisalabad was recently opened and blessed by the Archbishop of Faisalabad. Muslim and Christian leaders attended the opening and spoke in support of harmony between Muslims and minority religions.

He noted that commercial activity with regard to using the seas and marine life in areas beyond national jurisdiction will likely increase exponentially in coming years.

Letting Go at Auschwitz-Birkenau: Lessons from a Zen Peacemaker Retreat


As the son of Holocaust survivors, with virtually every member of my family having been either a victim or survivor, I ruled out the possibility of ever visiting a concentration camp.
