Climate change: Young Christians call on EU to commit to eco-justice

The EU is among the major players in the global climate negotiations. The EU is committed to adopting the principles of its climate policy and objectives for 2030 at the meeting of the European Council in October 2014. The conference offered a space for an exchange of views and raised specific concerns related to the Christian and youth perspective. The main point was the close and inseparable link between climate change and justice.

The Russian Federation hosted the ASEM High-Level Conference on Intercultural and Inter-Religious Dialogue from 3-4 July 2014 in St Petersburg. The final declaration addressed the need for inter-religious contacts at all levels, reaffirming the Vientiane message of ASEM partners in 2012.

WCC announces September Interfaith Summit on Climate Change

The World Council of Churches (WCC) announced it will hold an Interfaith Summit on Climate Change on September 21-22 in New York City. At the summit, organized together with Religions for Peace, more than 30 religious leaders will take a united stand to encourage international and political leaders to address concretely the causes and consequences of climate change.
