faith-leadersRepresentatives of five religions met on Wednesday (22 June) at the headquarters of the Rio 2016 Organising Committee to work on details about the inter-religious centre that will be opened at the Olympic Village. “It’s really good to see Rio de Janeiro as a welcoming place where religions understand each other,” said Cardinal Dom Orani Tempesta, archbishop of Rio de Janeiro, who was alongside Rio 2016 president Carlos Nuzman.

Ministry through boxing

samantha LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – By now you should know local boxer Samantha Kinchen will be a part of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

The boxing phenom is still hopeful to represent the United States in the 2020 games as a competitor, but right now she’s fully focused on her chaplain duties with Athletes in Action.

Her dad is a pastor…and she’s been raised in the church…so was it a natural fit for Kinchen and how does ministry work within her sport?
