Americans may be getting less religious, but feelings of spirituality are on the rise

The phrase “spiritual but not religious” has become widely used in recent years by some Americans who are trying to describe their religious identity. While Pew Research Center does not categorize survey respondents in such a way, our surveys do find that the U.S. public overall appears to be growing a bit less religious – but also somewhat more spiritual.

US College becomes first in nation to offer interfaith major

Elizabethtown College LogoStudents at Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania will be the first in the country to major in interfaith leadership studies. The major, which includes coursework in religion, as well as business, political science, sociology and biology, is aimed at attracting students interested in pursuing careers in ministry, as well as community development, government and service organizations.
